Tubular centrifuges are high-speed centrifugal separation machines designed for applications requiring efficient removal of fine suspended solids from liquids or separation of immiscible liquid phases. A long, narrow rotating bowl operating at high speed generates a very high centrifugal force, accelerating the separation of materials with different densities — so fine particles and liquid phases that are difficult to separate by conventional gravity-based methods can be separated effectively.
Primarily designed for solid-liquid separation. Used to remove fine suspended particles from liquids where the solids concentration is relatively low and conventional settling or filtration may not provide the required separation performance.
Designed for liquid-liquid separation and also suited to applications involving small quantities of suspended solids. The centrifugal field separates the liquid phases by density — the heavier liquid moves toward the bowl wall while the lighter liquid remains closer to the centre.
Efficient separation of drilled solids from drilling fluids
Shale shakers are primary solids-control equipment used in drilling operations to remove drilled cuttings and other relatively coarse solids from drilling fluids. As drilling fluid returns to the surface from the well, it carries drilled rock fragments and other solid particles. The shale shaker uses a vibrating screen deck to separate these solids from the reusable drilling fluid — the fluid passes through the screen and is collected for further treatment and recirculation, while retained solids are conveyed toward the discharge end.
By removing solids at the earliest stage of the solids-control process, shale shakers help maintain drilling-fluid properties, reduce the load on downstream separation equipment and support efficient drilling-fluid management.
Use a linear vibration pattern to transport solids across the screen deck. Widely used in drilling operations because they provide effective solids conveyance and suit a broad range of drilling-fluid applications.
Use an elliptical vibration pattern that provides different solids-conveyance characteristics compared with linear-motion designs. Selected where controlled solids movement and improved retention time are required.
Combine characteristics of linear and elliptical motion to provide controlled solids transport and screening performance.
The appropriate motion configuration depends on the drilling-fluid characteristics, solids loading and required separation performance.
Complete separation systems built to your requirements
Delta Process Equipments designs and builds custom separator skids for a range of industrial separation applications. The exact configuration is selected according to the application, flow rate, fluid properties, operating temperature and required separation.
We can build complete skid systems around new or suitable reconditioned centrifugal separators, providing an integrated and ready-to-install separation package.
Our engineers will review your fluid, solids, temperature and throughput requirements and recommend a configuration built for your line.
